Read the list and it starts to look like a Makati office tower directory. Pharma, banking, FMCG, real estate, streaming, a handful of startups. What most of them had in common was thirty people, two hours, and a mandate to make the afternoon feel like something.
What all twenty-three of them booked
Roughly the same thing. Exclusive use of the arena for 10 to 35 guests, our hosts running everything from check-in to the last round, and teams rotating through short games instead of committing to one long activity.
That rotation does quiet work. Nobody sits on a bench for forty minutes waiting for a turn, and nobody has to read icebreaker prompts off a clipboard. The scoreboard handles the introductions. Why the bookings keep coming from the same few blocks
Geography explains most of it. We sit on Level 4 of One Ayala, connected to the Ayala MRT station and the bus terminal downstairs, so a plan that starts with “we leave the office lobby at 4:30” survives contact with Makati traffic. For teams in the CBD, getting to the venue takes less time than their usual lunch run.
The rest is the shape of the booking. Games run 15 to 20 minutes each, so two hours slots into a half-day agenda instead of eating the whole day. Everything is indoors, which makes it one of the few plans an organizer can lock in during typhoon season without adding a weather contingency to the deck.
